Solo travelling lets you travel on your own terms. Do what you want, when you want and love it! At Sargood on Collaroy, we have all your needs covered if travelling alone.
Purpose-built for people with SCIs, Sargood on Collaroy is fully accessible, offering the latest in assistive technology, home automation, adaptive equipment. You are welcome to travel with your carer or utilise our team of on-site specialist support staff who are here to support you all the way.
Designed with welcoming social areas and offering an exciting recreational and leisure program, Sargood on Collaroy is a great place to connect with other travellers so you are guaranteed never to be lonely!
Our Rooms
No single supplement! All our rooms are booked on a per room per night basis so you don’t need to worry about paying extra.
Perfect for independent travellers, our Standard or Deluxe Studio Rooms have everything you need. With automatic doors, in-room iPad controls, and plenty of adaptive equipment, we’ve done our best to ensure a stress-free stay.
If you’re after some ‘me time’, you won’t be left wanting with king single beds, spacious living area and LCD TV. Or soak up some sun in your own private garden courtyard. And the social butterfly needn’t worry, with each room in close proximity to communal areas, there’s always someone around for a chat.
We even have space if you need to bring your own carer along, with the standard studio room sleeping up to three people, and the deluxe studio room holding four.
Specialist Support Staff
With a number of specialist staff on site, there’s always someone available to help you over the course of your stay.
Our Specialist Support Staff include occupational therapists, registered nurse, exercise physiologists, guest attendants and specialist vocational consultants.
Also included in our Wellness & High Support Package is up to six hours of assistance from guest attendants, in case you need some extra help.
Additional hours can also be purchased.
Food and Drink
Our open plan, communal kitchen designed with the latest in accessible features, is the perfect place to get cooking or share a meal with other guests. Features such as height adjustable benches, adapted cooking aids and a thermomix all make cooking at Sargood stress-free.
If you prefer to dine out, we have a selection of accessible cafes and restaurant nearby, including the newly refurbished The Collaroy, whose entire venue has been made wheelchair friendly on both levels.

On Site Facilities
With a range of onsite recreational and leisure options, there’s always something to do at Sargood. Check out our Recreation Room on level 1, where you can catch a movie with other guests, play video games or challenge someone to a game of pool.
If you’d like to work on your fitness, take advantage of our state of the art, fully accessible gym overlooking Collaroy Beach; you won’t find a gym with a better view! For those looking to relax, our ocean view lounge is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink and watch the waves whilst chatting with other guests and staff.
Activities On Offer
A key factor in any trip is choosing the right destination. And we’re confident that we’re the perfect pick. With loads to do at Sargood, the toughest decision is how to fit it all in!
With sporting activities galore, the active traveller will love our high energy options including surfing, kayaking, snorkelling, bush push, and rock climbing. Art lovers will have a ball in our ceramics class, or swap the clay for paint and create your own masterpiece. Take a moment to breathe in the fresh ocean breeze, and join us for an adaptive yoga class, and feel your worries melt away. We’re sure you’ll have worked up an appetite after all the excitement, so join us in the afternoon for a group cooking class, and show us your skills. With a tonne to do and great people to do it all with, solo travellers may arrive alone, but we know you’ll be leaving with a bunch of new friends.
