This course has been designed for those new to surfing and looking to get their first taste of catching waves!

Course Inclusions

Learn to surf with us at Sargood on Collaroy. Come and immerse yourself in all things surfing during this course, including:

Water safety skills and surf education
Daily surf lessons with our adaptive recreation team
All equipment provided including premium 3mm and 4mm wetsuits, wavejet and adaptive surfboards.

Course Program

DAY	PROGRAM
Sunday 22 Mar	Check in 2pm
Monday 23 Mar	Scheduled times through out the day – undergo water safety check in our ocean pool 3pm: Afternoon surf safety briefing
Tuesday 24 Mar	9am – 3pm: Surfing (*2 x daily surf sessions between above hours)
Wednesday 25 Mar	9am – 3pm: Surfing (*2 x daily surf sessions between above hours) 3:30pm – 4pm: Video/photo session
Thursday 26 Mar	9am – 3pm: Surfing (*2 x daily surf sessions between above hours) 3:30pm – 4pm: Video/photo session
Friday 27 Mar	Check-out 10am

Cost of particpating in this course is included in your nightly package rate.
Please note that access to our weekly activity program and 1:1 sessions with our therapists are not available to you when you are a participant on a course at Sargood.
If you are unable to attend this intensive course, we offer regular surf sessions throughout the year with our rec team as part of our weekly activity program.

You must be living in the community to apply to attend any of the courses run at Sargood on Collaroy. If you are currently an inpatient at a health facility then unfortunately you are not eligible to apply.

Great place for my family and i to holiday as it is accessible accommodation for my brother. Staff are very friendly and helpful, there is a large variety of activities to take part in and loads to do in the area as well as plenty of very nice restaurants.

I am in a wheelchair but not a spinal injury. I was excluded from using sargood. Not very inclusive and a bit elitist in my opinion

Amazing staff, great facilities. Awesome view. Good parking. Uber eats will deliver right to your room and there are plenty of yummy local food options. Such a good set-up and great way to learn about helpful home automation and products for people in wheelchairs as well as do some fun, wheelchair-accessible activities including surfing, snorkelling, gym, a lighthouse trip... Sargood is saaaaaaar gooood!

I strongly suggest this plan for people who has spinal cord injury and wants to have some holidays. bedrooms are really comfortable, the location is very convenient but the best of all is their friendly stuff. As a individual support worker, I can tell that they have all facilities which did my work a lot easy with the client that I assisted in his holidays.

Amazing facilities for both able and disabled visitors to enjoy themselves with family, along with wonderful management who care for everyones needs, no matter how hard. Would 100% recommend for anyone with a disabled family member to vacation at for a memorable fun experience!

The last 7 days staying at Sargood on Collaroy was amazing for me, learning to motor wheelchair on the beach and standing barefoot on the sand. Even though I have no feeling in my feet or legs I could see the sand on my toes. This is something I thought I would never experience again . Thank you all for your care at Sargood.

If I could givr more stars I would.My partner is tetraplegic after a misdiagnosis 6 months ago.We went to Sargood as a holiday for our whole family including 3 toddlers.The rooms were great.We had a room to ourselves and the family their own, the views perfect.The staff were absolutely amazing.They gave him his dignity back and taught us both so much.We can't wait to go back.

Sargood is truly such a special place, the staff are so welcoming and friendly and very helpful. The physiotherapist are exceptional and I had the best physio sessions I have ever had! The rooms are so comfortable and luxurious!The activities were absolutely amazing and the equipment is so fantastic, it was such an amazing opportunity to try an x8 chair and be able to go on a bush hike, something I never thought I would be able to do again!There is such a wide variety of different activities to try and a great family area too. My little girl loved the basketball ball and table tennis and giant dolls house!The location being so close to the beach is really handy and being close to the beach pool is great as I could wheel down in my chair and watch my husband take my daughter for a swim in the beach pool too.I highly recommend Sargood to anyone, it really is a wonderful place.

Stayed at Sargood earlier this year. To say it was amazing would be an understatement. The facilities are great but beyond that the staff are the absolute best. They go above and beyond to make you feel like anything you want to do is possible and is easy. It is the first time trying new things were I didn’t feel disabled. Getting back in the water was big and took a few tries but they were so supportive and were excited for me when I overcame my fear.All the staff played a part in making my time there one of the most memorable moments ever.I will definitely be back

Currently on my 2nd visit. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. As a permanent wheelchair user this is the only place I feel truly independent.The designers have literally thought of everything. The staff are lovely. Nothing is too much trouble, and whatever activity you want to do, they find a way to make it happen.The rooms are enormous. The views are sublime. Wish I could stay forever.
