If sport is not your thing, you may enjoy some of our more relaxed leisure activities.
We provide a free shuttle bus for guests for any activities that do not take place at Sargood on Collaroy. If space allows, family members may be able to come along on our shuttle bus, however, guests with a SCI will be given priority.
WEEKLY ACTIVITIES
Whale Watching
In the winter months, humpback whales begin passing by Sydney on their northern migration from the Antarctic waters in the south. During the migration, we often see whales breaching, particularly males who can put on a competitive display to impress the females. We have a number of fantastic viewing spots nearby, and while we can’t promise you a sighting, with our local knowledge your chances are pretty high!
Sunset Drinks
Relax and unwind on our beautiful balcony at Happy Hour at 5pm every Friday. Local musicians provide the perfect atmosphere as you enjoy watching the sun set over the ocean. All welcome.
Bushwalking
Information session on accessible bushwalking in Sydney: the Naturally Accessible framework
If you like bushwalking but don’t know where to go for accessible options, join us for a practical chat with the National Parks Association of NSW regarding the new Naturally Accessible framework. The new framework aims to provide better information for people with disabilities to overcome the barriers to bushwalking in Sydney. We will discuss where and how to go bushwalking in Sydney.
Farmers Market Visit
Sargood provides a shuttle service to/from the famous Beaches Market which takes approximately 10-20 minutes from the resort. The market is located at Warriwood on Fridays and at Frenches Forest on Sundays.
The Beaches Market was founded by Lindsay Frazer and Phil Taylor, who saw the need for a local place to shop on the weekend where locals could enjoy the lifestyle and activities that the Northern Beaches has to offer. The success of these markets, which quickly grew from 17 stallholders to over 100, has attracted the best traders from as far as Port Macquarie, Dungog, Orange, Young, the Southern Highlands and local growers.
The markets showcase high quality produce, usually grown or made by the stallholder themselves. With entertainment for kids, live music and space to simply sit on the grass and enjoy the festival like atmosphere, the Beaches Market is not only a great shopping destination but a great activity for family and friends to enjoy together.
Cooking class
Join us in our accessible communal kitchen for a group cooking class. We will help you improve your cooking skills and discover some new and exciting recipes. Try your hand at a homemade basil pesto, activated almond milk or challenge yourself with some pasta or pizza.
Our communal kitchen has the latest in accessible features and is a great place to cook and share a meal with other guests, while enjoying a fantastic view over the ocean.

Let your creativity flow in one of our art, photography, music, dance or pottery classes.
Ceramics Class
We will go to Brookvale Ceramics for a fun and social ceramics class, catering for all levels of ability. Their wonderful, dedicated teachers will help you learn the right techniques to create some wonderful pieces you can keep.
Rifle Shooting
Experience the exhilaration of sports shooting at the Sydney International Shooting Centre. Situated in the heart of Western Sydney, on 80 hectares of semi-rural bushland at Cecil Park, this world-class shooting range offers the very best sports shooting in a safe and supervised environment.
This course includes one-on-one supervision and all necessary equipment including adaptive trigger assist. You must have some hand function to operate the rifle and participants must be 12 years and older.
Table Games
Table Tennis
Join other guests or family members in our recreation room and challenge them to a game of table tennis. You are welcome to try out our adapted equipment and accessible table at any time or attend an organised table tennis session.
Snooker & Pool Comp (Kelly Pool)
Join us in our games room for a team game of pool and/or Kelly pool. Kelly pool is a great team game, allowing up to 10 players to join in at once. Make use of our adapted equipment and accessible pool table for a game with your family, friends and other guests.
Home Automation Program
Home automation is an integrated environmental control system, which increases independence by providing a way to remotely control aspects of the home environment. For example, you may use an iPad to open the front door, or use voice control to turn on the lights.
Our demonstration sessions will show you some of the key features of the home that can be controlled, the different control options, and some of the important considerations for installing such a system in your own home. Many of our guests have been so impressed they have home automation they have adopted these systems in their homes.
